Timber Gorman, M.D. grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont and went on to attend medical school at Hahnemann College of Medicine in Philadelphia. She completed her Ophthalmology residency in Boston. While she was a resident at Boston University, she gained valuable extensive clinical experience at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Children's Hospital, Tufts/New England Eye Center, Beth Israel Hospital and Boston City Hospital. Dr. Gorman also provided care to many deserving Veterans from throughout New England at the Veteran's Hospital in Jamaica Plains.
     After completing her residency, she began practicing in coastal Maine and became Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1998. Dr. Gorman is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Maine and Massachusetts as well as the Province of New Brunswick in Canada.
     She formed Downeast Eye MD in 2001 and moved to her new state of the art facility in January 2015.
     As Ophthalmology continues to evolve, she keeps current by attending conferences in the United States and Europe. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, New England Ophthalmological Society, Maine Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and the Maine Medical Association.
